LUPUS UK Contacts

Contacts

We have trained volunteers, called Contacts, who either have lupus themselves or have a family member with the condition. You can chat with our Contacts over the telephone. They are not medically trained but are there to offer both emotional and general support and signpost you to someone who can advise you. The telephone service is confidential, and you can disclose as much as you wish. The support service is free apart from the cost of the call.

How can Contacts help you?

Contacts are here to listen to you and offer encouragement and general advice. Because they or a family member have lupus, they will often have experienced similar thoughts and problems. They are here to offer a listening service when you most need it.

Our Contacts would always encourage you to speak to a doctor or specialist nurse about your medication or specific medical advice.

Where can I find a Contact?

We have Contacts in many areas of the UK. To receive details of a Contact, please fill in and submit the form below or telephone the LUPUS UK National Office on 01708 731251 (9am-5pm, Mon-Fri).

We have young lupus Contacts and Contacts for men. If you would like to chat with them, please specify this in the 'Additional information' part of our online form.

As most of our Contacts have lupus themselves, it would be valued that people call between 9 am and 8 pm.
