Who's who and does what?
Chris Maker - Director
Chris works full time and has been with LUPUS UK since December 2000. He is responsible for the work and staff at National Office and the charity's Regional Groups. A brief summary of the Director's position:
- Fostering the declared aims of LUPUS UK
- Developing the charity's image, services and Regional Group structure
- Managing the charity's finances including budgeting and management accounts
- Producing Annual Report and Accounts
- Preparation of the national magazine, News & Views
- Working with the Trustees and National Council
- Organising the Annual AGM and National Conference
- Attending Regional Group AGMs/other meetings
- Responsible for systems development
- Liaising with other relevant organisations
- Dealing with telephone enquiries

Geraldine Leonard - Office Manager
Geraldine is a long-serving member of the National Office team having been with LUPUS UK since November 1990. Her work covers:
- Managing the membership system
- Supervision of Welfare and Research Grants made by the charity
- Organising the Annual AGM/National Conference and all LUPUS UK Courses
- Responding to correspondence of a medical nature from the general public and health professionals
- Liaison between National Office and the Regional Groups of the charity
- Managing the day to day finances of LUPUS UK
- Dealing with telephone enquiries from the public

Ann Walsh - Office Manager's Assistant
Ann joined LUPUS UK in July 2005 and works 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday. Her principal role is to support the Office Manager in her day to day duties. Her role includes:
- Assisting with the updating of the membership system
- Mailing packs to new members
- Despatching saleable items
- Assisting with postal services
- Dealing with telephone enquiries from the general public

Janine Hirsch - Fundraising Manager
Janine has worked at National Office since July 1994 and works 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday. Her role includes:
- Maintaining and developing the charity's corporate and trust appeals
- Recording monthly/quarterly appeals income and reporting these to the Trustees
- Managing gift aid, tax reclaims, legacies, memorial funds
- Organisation of the annual National Draw
- Management of the London Marathon Team and all sponsored events, producing sponsor forms etc.
- Acknowledging donations made to the charity
- Answering telephone enquiries from the general public

Christine Watkins - Publications Editor
Christine joined LUPUS UK in June 1997 as Secretary to the Director. Over the years her involvement with preparation of LUPUS UK publications has increased considerably resulting in her principle role now being Publications Editor. Christine still offers secretarial assistance to the Director when necessary, and works Tuesday, Thursday and Friday each week.
- Design preparation of the national magazine, News & Views, the annual Sales Brochure, LUPUS UK posters and promotional material
- Processing correspondence/report needs for the Director
- Assisting with organisation of AGM and National Conference annually
- Maintaining web site updates
- Answering telephone enquiries from the general public
- Preparing support letters where requested for those members undergoing Tribunals, Appeals etc.

Mary Phillips - Admin Assistant
Mary has worked for the charity since January 1996 and works 9am to 1pm Monday to Friday and is responsible for:
- Mailing information packs to enquirers together with the mailing of sales items available from the National Office
- All postal services for National Office
- Investigating possible sales items and placing orders where appropriate
- Dealing with telephone enquiries from the general public
- Maintains office supplies and sales items for the LUPUS UK shop
