In comparison with some other organisations, LUPUS UK currently does not have sufficient money available for large-scale trials and applications should not exceed £25,000 in value unless specified otherwise below. The charity will look to support applications which focus on the following:
• enabling grants for basic science support, which would enable larger projects by providing essential data for large grant applications
• medical meetings, which would facilitate improvements to the understanding of the causes, prevention and treatment of lupus, and its research
LUPUS UK is willing to work collaboratively with other charities where research interests overlap. LUPUS UK will not fund individual institutions, long-term career posts, travel or open access publication costs.
Applications for funding are peer reviewed twice each year in the spring and in the autumn with the final decisions being advised during May and November. The LUPUS UK Grant Application Cover Sheet along with the LUPUS UK Conditions of Grant can be downloaded from this site and one original signed copy should be submitted, by post, to LUPUS UK, and a PDF and a Word copy emailed to email@example.com at least one month before the Peer Review Panel meets.
